Background of Joette M (Jo) Funderburg

Jo Funderburg started her accounting career as a Co-Op student with the Internal Revenue Service while attending Wright State University.  In the position of Revenue Agent, she audited individuals, sole proprietors, partnerships, and corporations.  Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Business and majors in Accountancy and Finance, Jo accepted full-time employment with IRS in the Dayton, Ohio office.

Working for six years with the IRS allowed Jo to develop a unique understanding of the operations and outlook of the IRS.  Jo applies that knowledge to help solve problems that a client might have with the IRS, and to help evaluate how the IRS would interpret and treat specific tax situations based on the tax laws, rulings, procedures and court cases.

Upon passing the Certified Public Accountant exam, her career continued with a regional firm in Dayton, Ohio.  After several years with that firm, she had the opportunity to join the team at Deloitte & Touche also in Dayton, Ohio.
